When it comes to choosing a destination to study abroad and get the best amenities and exposure for the interest related field, the generous student scholarships of Germany, social assistance of France, cheaper facilities of Poland and much more comes to our mind. The European nations have the benefit over other ones, the language of communication to begin with. It is the homeland of English, the most suitable language of communication in today’s world. With the ease of communication, it is homeland even to the Industrial Revolution, leading to a great encouragement to the industries, studies, medicine and management. International students are always looked upon with liberal and welcoming admission patterns.
There always are certain questions in mind when it comes to the Visa procedure.
(1) Why Europe?
The best part about Europe is the unity of the nations to try to bring a harmonized Visa pattern so as to avail ease in the whole application process. Other countries have their own Visa procedures making the whole task tedious and confusing. The people with low IELTS, TOEFL score generally considered as weak profiles otherwise, are given very emboldening opportunities in Europe. For example, there are many universities who don’t give much preference to the language exam scores and rather judge the students on the basis of pure field talent they have. They simply need to take a 6 month or yearly language course during their academic year to increase their English proficiency skills. Europe is a rich amalgamation of history, gothic and modern style of architectures, natural beauty and warm, supportive people. If one wants to enrich the potential they have while enjoying the real state of art and class, Europe for sure is the place for them.
(2) What are the types of Study Visa available?
The visas in Europe can generally be classified in two different types:
1) Long term visa and
2) Schengen Visa
(3) What is the Schengen Visa?
The Schengen Area is an area of Europe comprising of 26 European states that have abrogated the entire passport and other types of border control aspects. The area mostly functions with a single system of working for international travels, with a common Visa policy. Thus, the Student Schengen Visa is an entry to the Schengen Area, for the short term stay, i.e. maximum 90 days. Any student, who wants to conduct a small term research or study tour, needs to obtain the Schengen Visa for the same. All the prominent countries of Europe like Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany etc. are a part of the Schengen territory. This Visa is further divided into single entry, double entry and multiple entries Visa according to the requirement. It can be obtained only for one country of this territory, and after the end of 90 days, it needs to be renewed.
(4) What is a long term visa?
If the stay is longer than 90 days, i.e. if you are planning to take a Masters’ degree or any other long term course, Schengen Visa wouldn’t be of help. For such a long term stay, you need to have a long term visa of the particular country. It is unlike the short term visa process which is common for all the countries. For long term visa, every country has its own specific requirements.
(5) What are the basic requirements for a long term visa?
With many prestigious institutes spread across in different countries of Europe, every country demands different criteria satisfaction while providing the visa. But, there are certain basic requirements that are common for all the countries. Some of them are:
• The Acceptance letter of the applied University
• To enroll in a foundation course before entering the country
• The basic information of the financial capability
• Basic documentary citizenship proofs etc.
If there is any need for the student to visit the country to appear for an entrance test, there is a separate visa procedure for the same.
(6) How long does the process take?
The process normally doesn’t take more than 3 months of time. If no reply is received by that point, it can be well assumed that the application has been subjected to rejection under various grounds.
(7) Which country is preferable?
That depends completely on the course of your interest. If you are a management person, the home to the best business schools- France is the place for you. Technology freaks are welcomed in Germany and the diversity of education in Switzerland can surely not be missed. Whichever country it is, will surely give you the best days to experience, and the best educational facilities to make the optimum use of.
