  • The person who is related to applicant as Son, Daughter, Sister, Brother, Aunt or Uncle over the age of 18 and living alone in the most exceptional circumstances and mainly dependent financially on relatives settled in Britain.

What are the Eligibility requirements for UK Dependent Visa?

You must be the sponsor\’s spouse, an unmarried person, or a civil partner to qualify as a dependant. Children under the age of 18 may also apply for a visa to the UK as the sponsor\’s dependents.

You must be able to demonstrate one of the following as the sponsor\’s spouse or partnering into one qualify:

  • You have a legally recognised civil union or marriage in the United Kingdom.
  • You submit your application after being in a relationship for at least two years.
  • You are engaged, engaged-to-be married, planning to get married or entering one a civil partnership within six months of arriving in the United Kingdom.
  • Additionally, you\’ll have to demonstrate your proficiency in English Language Proficiency.

UK Tier 2 Dependent Visa

The same amount of leave would be given to any such dependents as it would to the primary tier 2 visa applicant. Dependents may work in the UK, but they must first apply for their work permit

Conditions:

  • sponsored by a higher education institution for any programme that lasts nine months or longer and equates to level 7 or higher on the OCR qualification register.
  • a brand-new government-sponsored learner enrolled in any programme lasting at least six months.
  • a student in the Doctorate Extension Scheme.

What are the documents required for UK Dependent Visa

A dependent has the option of applying for the visa from within the UK or from outside. Depending on how you are applying, several types of papers are needed for the Dependent Visa.

Typically, the necessary documents consist of:

  • Passport and past travels
  • Background Documentation
  • Paperwork for the spouse or partner, such as a marriage licence
  • Income evidence of sponsor to demonstrate sufficient funds
  • Paid application costs and completed application poof
  • English proficiency (not essential for elderly parents you are caring for, based on documents you provide)
  • Your child must not have turned 18 at the time of application if you are applying on their behalf.

What are the fees for a Dependant visa in the UK?

The cost of the dependent visa is the same as that for the primary applicant. The Immigration Health Surcharge, which is now £624 per year for adults and £470 per year for child applicants, is also applicable to each dependent. A £19.20 enrolment fee for biometrics is required within the UK.

The following fees apply to dependents of skilled workers:

  • Dependant skilled worker- 3 year visa-entrance clearance. Cost £610
  • Entry clearance: £464 for skilled workers on the shortage occupations list with a three-year visa.
  • £1,220 for a dependent skilled worker\’s five-year visa and entry approval.
  • Entry clearance: Skilled Worker (Shortage Occupation List) – 5 year visa – £928
  • Dependent skilled worker with a three-year visa and £704 for leave to remain
  • 3 year visa for skilled workers (shortage occupations list) with leave to remain for £464
  • Dependent skilled worker with a five-year visa and leave to remain for £1408
  • Skilled Worker (Shortage Occupation List) – 5 year visa– leave to remain £928

Entry Clearance and Leave to Remain Fees for dependents of other visa categories can be added as per application.

What Are the processing time for UK dependent visas?

The sponsor would always decide whether to grant a dependent visa. When a child applies, the visa will be issued in accordance with the parent whose remaining leave is shorter if their parents have differing visa lengths.

The dependent partner of a skilled worker who is or has been given indefinite permission to remain may apply for ILR as well, assuming they meet the requirements.

The dependent partner can typically extend their visa under the dependant route when it is set to expire; this form of extension would automatically be granted for three years if they are not eligible for ILR at the same time as the skilled worker

 Is it possible for dependent visa holders to work in the UK?.

Dependant visa holders are permitted to work in the UK. They can work in a self-employed capacity but there are restrictions on employment as a professional sportsperson or a Doctor/Dentist in training.
