It also marks a significant return to larger Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws, a pattern IRCC followed throughout 2024. This draw is notably the first CEC-focused selection since Canada appointed its new Immigration Minister.
Prior to this, IRCC conducted a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on June 10, a healthcare and social services category draw on June 4, and another PNP draw on June 2. In total, IRCC has issued 38,342 ITAs through the Canada Express Entry system so far this year.
The majority of Express Entry invitations in 2025 have targeted PNP candidates, with additional draws for CEC candidates, those with French-language proficiency, and other high-demand priority categories.

Why Choose the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Through Canada Express Entry?
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a key pathway within the Canada Express Entry system, designed for individuals who have gained skilled work experience in Canada. It offers several advantages:
- Higher CRS scores for candidates with Canadian work experience, improving their chances of receiving an ITA.
- Faster processing times, with most CEC applications for permanent residence being processed within six months.
- No proof of settlement funds required, unlike other Express Entry programs.
This immigration stream benefits both Canada and applicants. It allows temporary foreign workers and international graduates to transition to permanent residence, contributing to Canada’s economy and addressing labour market needs.
Studies by IRCC, Statistics Canada, and other organizations confirm that immigrants with Canadian work experience integrate more easily into the job market and often achieve better employment outcomes than new arrivals without prior Canadian exposure.
With Canada Express Entry being one of the most efficient and popular immigration pathways globally, CEC candidates continue to have excellent prospects for building a successful life in Canada.
