Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has once again issued invitations to apply (ITAs) under the Express Entry system, marking an important update for candidates aspiring to settle in Canada.
In its latest move, IRCC conducted an education category draw and invited 2,500 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
To qualify for this draw, candidates were required to:
- Have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 462, and
- Submit their Express Entry profile before 4:24 a.m. UTC on July 9, 2025.

This latest education category draw is only the second in Express Entry’s history. Compared to the previous education draw held on May 1, today’s draw reflects two major changes:
- Lower CRS cut-off score: dropped from 479 to 462.
- Bigger draw size: increased from 1,000 ITAs to 2,500 ITAs.
This draw also marks the fifth Express Entry draw in September 2025, following:
- A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 15,
- A French-language draw that issued 4,500 ITAs on September 4, and
- A smaller Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on September 3.
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 59,797 ITAs across all Express Entry categories.
Most draws this year have been concentrated on PNP candidates, while the remaining ITAs have been given to CEC candidates, French-language proficiency candidates, and those under priority occupation categories.
| Draw Type | Number of Draws |
| Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 17 |
| Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 9 |
| French-language proficiency | 5 |
| Healthcare and social services | 4 |
| Education | 2 |
