Top Reasons For Rejection Of Canada Student Visa
Financial Instability
- Students who wish to study in Canada must have a certain amount of money saved up in order to cover the course costs for the first year. Students must provide their bank statements as verification.
- The students\’ ability to support themselves financially throughout their stay in Canada should be demonstrated by a bank statement. Any indication of financial instability will result in the rejection of the visa application.
- For at least the first year of the course, students must have enough money to cover their living expenses, necessities, and school charges. The application won\’t be authorised if the bank statements demonstrate insufficient financial resources.
- This has been one of the key causes of the high rejection rate for Canadian student visas. To lessen the chances of rejection, students should attach valid financial proof to the application form.
Issues with travel history and identity documents
All relevant documents must be attached, and the application form must be properly completed. The pupils must finish the necessary documentation procedures. The travel history needs to be supported by official paperwork and reliable evidence.
Every document connected to identity verification, including personal identification proof, passport-size photos, properly completed forms, and others, should be valid. The application form\’s information must match exactly with the materials you submit.
Academic success
The visa officers examine academic credentials and consistency. Examining a student\’s total academic record is done by visa officers. For approval, getting good marks is crucial, but it is not all.
The results of exams to measure English language skills, such as the TOEFL and IELTS, will be a major factor in whether a visa application is granted or denied. Additionally, it will be questioned if your academic records are inconsistent.
Counsellors can help international students get ready by advising them on the best course of action for dealing with such anomalies.
Intent to return to home country.
A temporary visa with an expiration date is a student visa. Thus, the visa officers will inquire as to whether the foreign students intend to return home after the course is over.
Due to a lack of prospects in their place of origin, international students may elect to relocate to Canada after completing the course. This, however, can lead to the denial of a student visa.
Therefore, applications are immediately refused when there is a low likelihood that they would return to their own country. Through their application and visa interview, international students should demonstrate their desire to return home after the course is over.
Letter of acceptance
The Designated Learning Institute (DLI) should offer a letter of acceptance to every student at the time of admission. Every international student needs to submit this letter of acceptance from their respective DLIs to the visa officials. If under any circumstance, the students don’t receive the letter of acceptance, the visa or study permit will be squarely rejected. The students need to produce a letter of acceptance along with minimum eligibility criteria proof as stated by the Canadian government. Additional or any supporting personal document or statement can be attached to the application form.

Re-Apply for Student Visa
While reapplying for a student visa you can apply for the same country. However, if you have got multiple rejections from the same country, you can apply to another country. Let’s discuss both the possibilities –
a) Re-Apply in the Same Country
If your visa got rejected for the first time, there’s a possibility that you’ll get it the second time. Make sure that you don’t make the same mistakes that lead to the rejection this time.
If you appeared for a visa interview, you can ask the visa officer why your visa got rejected. However, if you weren’t asked to give the interview, you must have received a document explaining the reason for your rejection. Once you know the reason, make sure that you rectify your mistake this time before re-applying.
